Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some of our frequently asked questions. If there is anything else you would like to know please give us a call and we will be happy to help.
Can we bring our own caterers?
Our catering team are extremely experienced and incredibly flexible so we’re sure they’ll be able to offer the menus you require. From cultural wedding food to specialist dietary requirements, they can accommodate your wishes so I’m afraid we don’t offer the option of using external suppliers for catering.
If I book Clevedon Hall for my wedding, do I have to pay for all of the bedrooms in my package?
We have many options available for your guest bedrooms. You can choose to allocate specific rooms or room types and set whatever rooms rates you would like(we can recommend rates if you would like). If you choose to charge guests for their rooms then once they have made a payment this will be removed from your bill.
Are you licensed to conduct weddings onsite?
Yes, we’re an approved venue for weddings and civil partnerships. Most of the ground floor is licence along with our beautiful outside gazebo. Our partner for conducting ceremonies is North Somerset Registry Office whose staff conduct all ceremonies at Clevedon Hall.
Can I get married in a Church and then hold my reception at Clevedon Hall?
Of course. There are many stunning churches, cathedrals and other religious venues nearby for your ceremony, and then join us at Clevedon Hall for your reception, evening celebrations and overnight accommodation.
Can we have fireworks?
We love firework displays so yes, absolutely! Due to the safety issues surrounding the use of fireworks, we only allow our approved supplier to conduct the display. They are hugely experienced and can personalise the display to incorporate your preferred colours etc. Cost is based on the length of the display time that you would like. Please call us to discuss in more detail. N.B. For weddings in November, please book well in advance due to the huge seasonal demand at this time.
Are there any restrictions on dates when we can get married at Clevedon Hall?
We will try to accommodate your preferred date as far as possible. However this is subject to our availability. Very specific dates such as Christmas Day are available however there are significant cost implications.
Can you recommend a type of supplier?
Absolutely, we work with a very wide variety of suppliers. From florists to bands and everything in between. We will be happy to provide details of experiences we have had with any of your potential suppliers to help you make an informed decision on your selection.
Do you allow confetti?
We arrange confetti to guarantee the quality of what is used and provide however much the couple need. This can be used inside or outside the venue.
Do you allow smoking?
In line with UK law, smoking is not permitted in any part of the mansion house but guests are welcome to smoke in the grounds, with ashtrays provided as necessary.
Do you have high chairs available?
We can provide up to 4 high chairs. If needed we can hire in further high chairs.
My partner and I are real foodies and don't want to be limited to a set menu and have quite specific ideas of what we would like. Can you accommodate this?
Absolutely, we’d be delighted to talk to you about your ideas. We plan every event individually, and design the menus around our guests’ requirements. There are no set menus at Clevedon Hall.
Do you offer tastings?
We’re always keen to arrange a tasting session for our couples, so please ask your wedding concierge to book this for you. These sessions take place during the week and are chargeable.
Can we opt for a multi choice menu?
Yes, this is possible and we’ll be happy to provide suggested options to you. There are additional costs for this but we’ll be able to advise specifically once you’ve chosen your menu. Alternative options for those with special dietary requirements can be accommodated at no extra cost providing we are notified no later than the final numbers confirmation.
Do you have any restrictions on external suppliers?
We ask that all external suppliers have the appropriate public liability insurance and any electrical items need to have been PAT tested to ensure its safety. We also need all external suppliers to confirm their arrival time for set up, and if they need to collect anything following the event.
